Author and Copywriter for the Yandex Zen channel of the "Foundation for the Support of Homeless Mixed-Breed Animals".
Challenge
The channel’s audience was originally built two years ago through “grey” methods. Since then, most subscribers have gone dormant.
Efforts to revive the channel began about six months before I came on board.
The niche itself is challenging: charity work is weighed down by stereotypes, attracts fierce haters, and has traditionally relied on a dull tone of voice — appeals to guilt, pity, and pleas for help.
The information about the animals in care is usually reduced to the basics: age, presence or absence of illnesses, and whether they had previous owners. Yet for each animal, we need to craft a profound, individual story. Repetition is not an option — otherwise, the entire blog turns into a monotonous “tear-jerker machine,” churning out identical pleas for help.
Solution
The raw material is prepared by AI assistants.
I use an AI assistant specifically trained to write in the Yandex Zen format: headlines and structure, emojis, bold highlights for key phrases, short standalone lines, and a dynamic conversational style that still stays within the bounds of proper literary norms.
An AI “creative” tool is employed to develop narrative frameworks and vary the emotional intensity.
An AI proofreader ensures stylistic and grammatical consistency.
I handle the final editorial polish myself, turning the draft into a finished article.
Results
Average feed impressions grew from 20 to 200.
The average read-through rate increased from 23% to 51%.
The average CTR in the feed rose from 3% to 8.8%!
Impact
We filtered the audience: over the six months of my work, 40 old subscribers left while 33 new ones joined solely thanks to the articles, without any paid promotion.
Although the absolute figure is negative — minus 7 subscribers overall — the new audience shows significantly higher engagement.
Due to consistent publishing and adherence to the Zen format, the algorithms began delivering more organic impressions in the feed.
